The SITSS00069 Food Safety Supervision Skill Set is designed for individuals responsible for overseeing food safety in hospitality and retail environments. This skill set includes two key units: SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety and SITXFSA006 Participate in safe food handling practices. Participants will gain essential skills in implementing and monitoring food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and maintaining safe and hygienic practices to prevent foodborne illness. This training is ideal for those in supervisory or management roles who need to ensure high standards of food safety in their establishment.
Who Should Apply
This skill set is for food handling personnel or food safety supervisors working in tourism, hospitality and catering organisations with permanent or temporary kitchen premises, and smaller food preparation or bar areas.
The units in this skill set are included in many qualifications within Training Packages. Therefore, a statement of attainment for these units can be used as credit for a range of qualifications.
Entry Requirements
Iris Trained has the following entry requirements:
You must:
- be at least 18 years of age
- have sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skill sufficient to complete the course, for example, to read materials relevant to the course, participate in discussions and roleplays and apply numerical concepts such as time management. This will be tested through a LLN assessment as part of the course entry process. You will need to achieve ACSF level 2 for reading, writing, numeracy, and oral communication to enter the course.
