About this course
Course Description
This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to provide responsible gambling services, and to assist those customers who may be at risk of or are already experiencing harm from gambling. Responsible gambling services must be provided wherever gambling activities are undertaken. In the hospitality industry, the gambling environment is usually referred to as the gaming area and is provided in a range of venues, such as hotels, motels, clubs, pubs and casinos.
Who Should Apply
This course is targeted at anyone who requires training in responsible gambling services. This may include new entrants, as well as those who may have had some experience in the hospitality industry or are working in the industry.
The unit SITHGAM022 Provide responsible gambling services is included in many qualifications within Training Packages. Therefore, a statement of attainment for these units can be used as credit for a range of qualifications.
Entry Requirements
Iris Trained has the following entry requirements:
You must:
- be at least 18 years of age
- participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs
- have sufficient language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skill sufficient to complete the course, for example, to read materials relevant to the course, participate in discussions and roleplays and apply numerical concepts such as time management. This will be tested through a LLN assessment as part of the course entry process. You will need to achieve ACSF level 2 for reading, writing, numeracy, and oral communication to enter the course.
