Course Description

This qualification combines essential service, sales, and operational skills with leadership and problem-solving abilities. Students will learn to plan, monitor, and evaluate team performance, manage customer service, and apply industry-standard practices across various settings. This qualification supports pathways for multi-skilling and specialisation in accommodation, food and beverage, and gaming.

Who Should Apply

This course is targeted at domestic students who are:

  • graduates of the SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality (generalist electives) at Iris Trained; and 
  • working within the Iris Group in a food and beverage, security or cleaning role; and
  • seeking to pursue or further a career in hospitality.

Iris Trained will only allow entry to students who have attained SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality (generalist electives) from Iris Trained. A credit transfer for 10 units will be granted and delivery will be limited to 11 units.

Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into a range of Diploma qualifications, such as the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management.

Entry Requirements

Iris Trained has the following entry requirements:

You must:

  • be at least 18 years of age and have completed the equivalent of Year 10
  • participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs. The course entry interview will also assess whether students can use digital technologies
  • have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills as tested through a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. Students will need to achieve ACSF level 3 for reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication to enter the course.
