Course Description
This qualification is an entry-level qualification designed for individuals seeking a career in hospitality. This course provides a strong foundation in essential hospitality skills, covering areas such as customer service, food and beverage service, and basic operational tasks. Students will learn to work independently or as part of a team, using sound industry knowledge to deliver quality service across various settings. This qualification supports pathways for multi-skilling and specialisation in accommodation, food and beverage, and gaming.

Domestic students who are:
- Working within the Iris Group in a food and beverage, security or cleaning role; and
- Seeking to pursue or further a career in hospitality.
Students who complete this course may wish to continue their education into a range of Certificate IV qualifications, such as the SIT40422 Certificate IV in Hospitality
Entry Requirements
Iris Trained has the following entry requirements:
You must:
- be at least 18 years of age and have completed the equivalent of Year 10
- participate in a course entry interview to determine suitability for the course and student needs. The course entry interview will also assess whether students can use digital technologies
- have sufficient language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills as tested through a language, literacy and numeracy assessment. Students will need to achieve ACSF level 3 for reading, writing, numeracy and oral communication to enter the course.
